We are 20-something newlyweds learning to navigate the “adult-world” of real jobs, real bills, and real life. We live just north of Atlanta, GA, pretty close to where we both grew up and are enjoying our new house in the suburbs (some would say the sticks). I’m a high school teacher and Trey is a service technician and veteran of the US Navy (he likes to remind people he’s a “veteran of 2 wars”). We love being married but have learned many challenging and valuable lessons in the past 3 years. Although we still fight daily battles of selfishness, stress, and exhaustion- marriage is the best gift we’ve been given! (Notice I’m speaking as we… although he better agree… 
…) We are currently expecting our first child sometime in mid-April and couldn’t be more excited/anxious/excited/nervous/ready for him to get here. We spend many of our days now disagreeing on baby names, on whether or not to paint the nursery, and on what’s a reasonable amount of money to spend on a baby’s room. But we laugh. A lot. Because we live a great life and have fun through it all.

Cute ideas. I like that you do not want it to be too matchy matchy. I vote for the beige in the bedding (color#1) or another color I would suggest is yellow and you could reuse for a girl with pink.
Hi! I stumbled across your blog while searching for “owl” decor for my baby boys nursery. I LOVE this owl stuff. (Your blog page is very cool as well.) Hi Stacey– Glad you stopped by! I found the owl pictures at etsy.com and fell in love with them and basically just started looking for coordinating colors to go with them. The owls pics are from http://www.etsy.com/shop/leearthaus and I just ordered 4 that I thought went well together. She/he (?) has some really neat owl prints!! Other than that, I just found the bedding on clearance at Target (score!!) and have bought random crib sheets that match the pretty standard brown/white polka dots. I also got the green storage ottoman at Target on clearance. So… I don’t know that they’re still selling it?? I found the orange lamp and orange pillow and blue flower pot at Homegoods/TJMaxx. I have NO decorating sense, but have just kept the Owl pics with me whenever I get a chance to go shopping and have been able to find a few things that match. I didn’t want a matchy-matchy bedding set where it felt like I threw up owls in the room…I hope this helps!!
